The Knight Rider reboot lasted just 17 episodes before getting cancelled. Hasselhoff made a cameo in one episode, his character Michael was Mike's estranged father. Knight Rider was rebooted as a TV series in 2008 with action-movie icon Val Kilmer doing the voice of KITT The lead role of Mike was played by Justin Bruening, who is better known these days for portraying heartthrob Coach Cal in Netflix series Sweet Magnolias.
